  • To convert and maintain software from a Prime system to a Unix machine within a 3 month contract.
  • Ensure programs are year 2000 compliant.

Achievements:

  Responsibilities:
  • To enhance, support and maintain the Car Rental System (TAS).

  • Supported the system to a satisfactory degree after only been exposed to it for two months.

Position: Analyst/Programmer

  Responsibilities:
  • To migrate a Shares Registry system on a stand alone PC to UNIX machine.

Achievements:

  • Delivered a complete and functioning system within the specified time frame, which is in use today.

  Responsibilities:
  • To maintain and partly redevelop parts of the superannuation system called CLASS.

Achievements:

  • Redeveloped major installation program making code more efficient and robust.
September 1989 to June 95 MYER STORES LIMITED. Position: Analyst/Programmer
  Responsibilities:
  • To develop, maintain and support the Point of Sale software as part of a dedicated group.

Achievements:

  • Delivered quality code within tight deadlines for major projects such as Layby, Flybuys and warehouse interface.
  • Supported system during peak trading times without major problems occurring.
  • Supported the remote network used to support and resolve problems to a high degree of competence.

  Responsibilities:
  • To maintain and enhance a variety of systems.

Achievements:

  • Extended the Marketing system under the guidance of the Project Leader.
  • Suggested and implemented database changes to Suppliers Pay system.
  • Ported Systems across from a NCR mainframe to a mid range UNIX system.

  Responsibilities:
  • To maintain the day to day running of the FACOM M180 mainframe and nightly backups.

Achievements:

  • Was exposed to the operations side of computing.

1997 - ongoing Self Education.
 
  • I have recently taught myself Access and Visual Basic 4.0/5.0 and am currently designing mini projects utilizing these products.
